We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr Burhanuddin Khan Jahangir.
Born on 9 January 1936, Dr Jahangir was a renowned Bangladeshi writer, academician and social commentator. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree, in political science, from the University of Dhaka, and went on to complete his Ph.D. from Durham University. He was a recipient of the Bangla Academy Literary Award (1969) and the Ekushey Padak (2009).
His book, Nirbachito Golpo, was published at the Ekushey Boi Mela 2020 by Bengal Publications.
Dr Jahangir passed away on 23 March 2020 at the age of 84.
